The Law - Safety & Regulations

Please note that you must be 18 or over in order to buy fireworks. It is illegal to sell fireworks to anyone under the age of 18 and we will require photographic evidence of identity and age if you come to the shop and are lucky enough to look too young! Please note that you must also be over the age of 16 in order to buy toy caps, cigarette bangers, throw downs, smoke bombs, party poppers and table bombs. If you are a new customer ordering from this website , we will need proof of identity and address before dispatching your order.

It is also illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to be in possession of fireworks in a public place.

Fireworks may not be used after 23:00 or before 07:00 except on certain special days. These days are Chinese New Year, Diwali and New Year's Eve, when fireworks may be used until 01:00 the following day, and November 5th when they may be used until midnight.

Have fun with your fireworks but please show consideration for those who may not like them:

  1. Warn close neighbours, particularly those who are elderly or nervous and those with young children or pets.
  2. Warn nearby livestock owners and other keepers of animals.
  3. Don't use fireworks too near public roads and footpaths and other public areas.

All the fireworks that we supply have been tested as safe for use by the general public and will be clearly marked with a label that says they conform to BS7114 : Pt2 : 1988. The label will also tell you whether the firework is a Garden Firework or a Display Firework. Garden Fireworks must be viewed from a minimum distance of 5 metres and Display Fireworks must be viewed from a minimum distance of 25 metres.

The label will also provide general instructions about how to use the firework safely and what effects to expect.Always read the safety instructions on each firework together with any additional instructions included in the firework pack and/or provided by us before attempting to light them.

Remember... Safety First!
